Grid Connections

How to connect

We are pleased to provide assistance to customers wishing to connect to the portion of Alberta’s transmission system that is owned and operated by AltaLink.

In order to connect to Alberta’s grid, you will need to follow the Alberta Electric System Operator’s (AESO) Connection Process. The process identifies the steps required for all industry partners involved in a new connection to the grid, including the customer, the AESO, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) and AltaLink.
