Delivering the energy you need during COVID-19
Our transmission system is the essential link that connects homes, farms, businesses, and industries to reliable, affordable electricity generated across Alberta. During the unprecedented times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping our employees safe and keeping the lights on continues to be our commitment to Albertans.
To maintain the health and safety of all of our employees, and for the people that rely on the energy our transmission system provides, we have adapted our work arrangements so that many of our employees are now working from home.
You may continue to see our crews working in your area or traveling to a worksite. As an essential service, we have a responsibility to deliver reliable electricity to more than three million Albertans. That means that some of our employees are still working out of our office, our control centre or in the field to ensure that we can perform important or urgent work that needs to be done on our system.
While our employees are working to keep the lights on for you, we’re committed to keeping them safe by ensuring they are able to practice safe physical distancing and providing them with appropriate protective equipment and sanitizer at their work locations.
This is a rapidly changing situation, and we’ll continue to work with health authorities, government officials, and industry as new information becomes available.
Our commitment remains with you and ensuring the lights stay on, and you have the electricity you need.
