AltaLink is currently completing public consultation for this project and wants your input. The Camrose Radio Telecommunication Tower Upgrade project is part of the South and West of Edmonton Area Transmission Development. This area has grown significantly in recent years and the demand for electricity has increased. Transmission system reinforcements are required to make sure residents, businesses and industry continue to have a reliable supply of electricity for years to come. All work on this project will take place on within the existing substation fenced area and no new land is required.
This project involves installing a new antenna on an existing telecommunications tower to support our telecommunications system and to maintain the safety and reliability of the electric system in the area.
The new antenna:
- will be accomodated on the existing telecommunications tower
- will be located at a height of approximately 78 metres (255 feet)
- will be approximately 2 metres (6 feet) in size
