About The Scholarship
In 2007, AltaLink launched its Aboriginal scholarship program. Two eligible students from each of Treaty 6, 7, 8 and the Métis community in Alberta will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and:
- Treaty applicants must be born in Alberta.
- Métis applicants must either be a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta Association or an Alberta Métis Settlement, or must have been living in Alberta for at least the past three months with a Métis membership card from another province.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit a completed application form, a photocopy of their status card and arrange to have their transcripts sent to AltaLink by October 14.
