FortisAlberta has requested upgrades to the transmission system in the Provost and Wainwright areas to improve the reliability of the electric system. This project involves:
- building a new 138 kV transmission line, approximately 33 kilometres long
- adding new equipment to the Provost, Edgerton, Hayter and Killarney substations
- replacing telecommunications structures at the Edgerton, Hayter and Killarney substations with new steel lattice telecommunications towers
