CALGARY, ALBERTA (Business Wire – November 27, 2024) – For the eighth year in a row, AltaLink was recognized with the President’s Award for Safety Excellence in Transmission at the Electricity Canada Powering Partnerships Symposium in Toronto last night.

Electricity Canada offers the safety excellence award to corporate utilities of comparable size in generation, transmission, or distribution operations that achieve the top ranking in Total Recordable Injury Frequency (TRIF). AltaLink was the top performer in the transmission category for companies with 300-1,500 full-time employees.
AltaLink has several proactive programs and procedures in place to reduce risks and hazards in the workplace. This includes setting company-wide participation rate targets in reporting hazards and near misses to proactively remove hazards from the workplace and share learnings from near misses.
