Company overview

We power Alberta. Headquartered in Calgary, with offices in Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge, AltaLink is Alberta’s largest electricity transmission provider. Our transmission lines deliver electricity to millions of Albertans 24/7/365.

It is an exciting time to work in electricity. The transmission system is the backbone of the economy, connecting homes, farms, businesses and industries to the electricity they rely on daily. With a drive to net zero emissions and the increasing electrification of society, the grid has never been more important to Albertans.

Whether working in the field or the office, every AltaLink employee contributes to keeping the lights on.

As a Berkshire Hathaway Energy company, we are part of a global group of companies delivering sustainable electricity and utility services to customers worldwide. Our exceptional customer service, commitment to the environment, and world-class safety record make us a leader in our industry.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are part of our society, representing dialogue based on values and individual experiences. Our workforce reflects the communities we serve by bringing these values and experiences together. Having different perspectives allows us to approach complex problems in innovative ways and creates opportunities for our employees and our business.

Our goal is an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and have a sense of belonging.

AltaLink employees are proud members and leaders of employee resource groups (ERGs), employee-led groups that provide support to employees that share a common characteristic or life experience and aim to foster an inclusive workplace.

Four groups have been formed to date:
