AltaLink is proposing to decommission and salvage a portion of the existing D610L
transmission line that is no longer required for service. The project is located east of
the town of Taber, in the Municipal District of Taber.

As part of the Vauxhall Area Transmission Development (VATD), most of the existing
610L transmission line was rebuilt within the southern road allowance of Township
Road 102. This rebuild was approved by the AUC and completed in March 2025.

The Alberta Electric System Operator has informed AltaLink that the replaced portion
of the 610L transmission line, now called D610L, is no longer required. As a result,
AltaLink is proposing to salvage 11 kilometres of the existing D610L transmission line.
