AltaLink has been recognized with an award for our participation in the Buddy Up program, an initiative led by the Canadian Mental Health Association and Centre for Suicide Prevention. This program focuses on breaking the stigma around men’s mental health by encouraging open conversations, meaningful check-ins, and a commitment to looking out for one another.
This award isn’t just a trophy on a shelf — it’s a reflection of who we are at AltaLink. It speaks about our culture, our values, and most importantly, the people that work here. What truly stands out in this recognition is our people’s unwavering commitment to the one team mentality. Everyone truly cares and supports each other, every single day.
“This program helped us open the door to conversations we might not have had otherwise,” says Pat Duggan, Buddy Up Program Champion. “It reminded us that caring for each other isn’t something we talk about once, it’s something we live, every day. That’s what makes AltaLink a great place to work. We don’t just say we’ve got each other’s backs — we show it.”
At AltaLink, safety is one of our core values. And while physical safety will always be essential, ensuring our people’s psychological safety — feeling seen, heard, and supported — matters just as much.
